Zelensky Visits U.S. to Unveil Ukraine’s “Victory Plan” Against Russia
At the start of his journey, Volodymyr Zelensky visited a weapons factory that manufactures, among other things, 155 mm shells, which are extensively used by Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.
Ukrainian President’s U.S. Visit
On Sunday, September 22, 2024, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the United States. His mission: to present an ambitious plan dubbed the “Victory Plan” to President Joe Biden and the U.S. Congress, aimed at ending the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
A Strategic Visit
Zelensky began his trip in Pennsylvania at an arms manufacturing plant that produces 155 mm shells, heavily used by Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. “I started my visit to the U.S. by expressing my gratitude to all the plant workers. It is in places like this that we see the democratic world can prevail,” Zelensky stated, emphasizing the role of democracy in this context.
A Crucial Autumn
Zelensky’s agenda in the U.S. also includes stops in New York and Washington. He is scheduled to meet with Joe Biden at the White House, where he plans to elaborate on his strategy to resolve the conflict with Russia. He believes “this autumn will be decisive for the future” of the conflict.
An International Solution
Zelensky also aims to persuade Biden to allow Ukraine to target Russian sites with Western long-range weapons. He contends that this strategy could alter the course of the war. “This war can only end with a just peace through international efforts. Ukraine’s Victory Plan will be on the table for all our allies,” he declared.
Zelensky’s visit coincides with the U.S. presidential campaign and the United Nations General Assembly, marking a pivotal moment for Ukraine and its future.
